The original oil cooler on all 356 engines was made of steel. It was heavy and usually rusted both from the inside and the outside; they all leaked eventually. We now have a modern replacement cooler constructed in the US of aluminum.
Our aluminum oil cooler will give you these benefits:
- 20% more surface area than the old original steel version. This equates to about 20% better cooling.
- 45% lighter than the old original steel version. Lighter weight eliminates the possibility of an engine case crack under the cooler base.
- "Peace of mind" knowing you have a new oil cooler and not an old rusty one ready to leak.
Note: The following are included with our aluminum cooler:
- Studs for both 6 and 8 mm engine case mountings
- Oil seals for 356B thru 912 mounting (16 mm ports)
