Many complete restorations now start with a stripped hulk with many parts missing. Often these fresh air vents are missing. Pre-A thru 356A cars had metal circular vents in the door opening area. The idea was to thread back the domed plate to allow air into the cockpit. Not much of an "air conditioner", but better than nothing.
