A good small winter project is a check of your rubber steering coupling. Easy access is by removal of the cover right above the steering gearbox. If you see any cracks in the rubber coupling, it's best to replace without hesitation - for your safety. Also check tightness of the bolts in the clamps, especially the upper one.
